James Dooley: Step number one for me is branding or brand SEO. You need to make sure your business looks good online and has a strong reputation. Everything should start with a positive brand SERP. SERP stands for search engine results page. When someone searches your brand, the results should clearly show who you are and what you do. When that branding is correct across the board, it improves everything else you do in marketing. It increases conversion rates from paid ads and social media. When potential customers research your company before making a decision, branding becomes extremely important. That is why brand SEO should be the foundation of every digital marketing strategy. The next strategy is AI visibility. More companies are starting to focus on this. What do ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity say about your brand or your business? Are the responses positive or negative? You should also look at what those platforms say about your competitors and try to improve your own visibility. Some people call this AI SEO, others call it GEO, and some refer to it as LLM optimisation. Regardless of the name, it will be a major factor in digital marketing in 2026 and beyond.
